Ethical Computer Recycling
We collect your equipment in our unmarked GPS tracked van or lorry and then bring it back to our premises where it will be stored and securely quarantined until the items are cleansed using our forensic data wipe protocols which exceeds by a factor of 8 the standards required by the Ministry of Defence . We can also provide a record of serial number or asset tags for your records upon request. Our service includes Environment Agency hazardous waste consignment and waste transfer documentation, along with appropriate certificates of data destruction.
Many items which we process can be re-used and are cleansed, refurbished and then brought back into use for low- income families through our community programme. We can supply start up businesses with a flexible, high quality and inexpensive equipment for their office and I.T. needs. To ensure our computers processed are re-manufactured to the highest standard we are also a Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher.
Our recycled computers are also sold throughout Europe and beyond to valued clients in the healthcare, business and school sectors. We have strong links with the ‘Computers for Schools’ programme in Poland.
Electronic and electrical equipment beyond economic recovery is feed into our unique training environment, where each item is individually dissembled into its component parts which are then identified and separated for further re-use and recycling. Remaining components, such as clean plastic, can be granulated for re-processing in the future. In one day in our training environment we can break down upwards of 70 PCs.
Data Destruction
Under the Data Protection Act (1998) the Information Commissioners Office requires that you use a secure service to protect the integrity of your data (maximum penalty for failure to comply is £500,000).
As a responsible Organisation, I.T Asset Disposal exceeds the MOD data-wiping as standard, however we can also offer CESG Infosec 5 software data erasure, degaussing and manual hard drive destruction. If you would prefer to data-wipe your own equipment, first, we will still use our machine to wipe again protecting the integrity of our service. For your peace of mind, our collections and data-destruction staff are also CRB checked to further ensure the security of our service.
Asset Management
We can manage your organisations I.T. assets, from box fresh when they arrive at your premises, to the end of it’s life, we will collate a register of I.T. equipment, which is provided to your I.T. Manager. Then, as upgrades are undertaken and when repairs are done, these are logged into the system thus providing you with a complete, personalized, real-time asset register.
Asset tracking allows accurate costings for your I.T. network providing you with a simple system for tracking each individual device and enabling you to set levels for decommissioning obsolete equipment, which we can then collect for you at your convenience.
I.T. Asset Auditing
We will undertake a yearly I.T. Asset Audit ascertain the value of your I.T. equipment and calculate how much you spend on equipment for budgeting purposes. Equipment can also be checked for specification and then upgraded as necessary and any de-commissioned equipment will be recycled.
PAT Testing (Portable Equipment Testing)
